Deputy District Attorney Todd Spitzer Monday night during the Orange County Republican Central Committee meeting revealed that District Attorney Tony Rackaucus is looking into issues with the fourth supervisorial district election.

Spitzer, a central committee member, stood up and announced his abstention from the endorsement vote for the seat during a debate between two contenders, Anaheim Councilman Harry Sidhu and Fullerton Councilmember Sean Nelson.

Spitzer said there might be an investigation into issues related to the race forcing his abstention.

“Boy, that’s tantalizing,” said Orange County GOP Chairman Scott Baugh from the podium.

Spitzer declined to comment on his announcement saying it would speak for itself.

There have been issues raised with two Anaheim city council people who are candidates in the race, Democrat Lorri Galloway and Sidhu.

Several attendees at Monday’s central committee meeting speculated that the probe might involve Sidhu.

The local political blog, Friends for Fullerton’s Future, has made an issue of Sidhu’s address essentially calling him a carpet bagger and forwarding their reporting to the district attorney.
