JUNE 11: Coastkeeper to Reach 10,000 Pounds of Trash Collected at Beach Cleanups
Hundreds of volunteers expected to help reach clean-water milestone
WHAT: Orange County residents will head to Huntington State Beach to help Orange County Coastkeeper reach an important milestone – 10,000 pounds of trash removed from local beaches. The milestone comes after years of monthly beach cleanups where families, friends and businesses alike come together during a two-hour cleanup to do their part in maintaining a healthy coastal environment for all to enjoy. WHY: Vast amounts of trash litter the world’s waters causing harm to oceans, wildlife, coastal economies and beach-goers.
