El Centro Gets a New Home

After being evicted from its old location on Fifth Street in
Santa Ana, the nonprofit Latino youth organization has found new
quarters in the city.

El Centro Still Has No Place To Go

The Latino cultural organization, which was recently involved in
an anti-gentrification protest in downtown Santa Ana, will be
without a home as of Wednesday.

The son of downtown land owner Irving Chase says the Latino
nonprofit El Centro Cultural de Mexico was forced from a building
owned by Chase’s father-in-law because of neglect. El Centro
leaders say their ouster is part of a gentrification plan.
