Effective at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 6, a voluntary evacuation for the Silverado Canyon burn area was issued by the County Emergency Operations Center due to potential flooding and debris flows. The voluntary evacuation is for homes east of 30311 Silverado Canyon Road. This voluntary evacuation has the potential to be upgraded to a mandatory evacuation as the storm progresses.

The Orange County Board of Supervisors gave the go-ahead to a 65-home development in the Modjeska and Silverado canyons and indicated that a general loosening of development restrictions in canyons is on the way.
