It seems that Santa Ana’s controversial valet service on Broadway in front of the historic Santora building is no more.

Employees with the valet company, Parking Concepts Inc., said Thursday that the city is shutting the service down.

The service lasted for just two weeks. Diego Alvarez, facilities manager for Parking Concepts, said the company parked only 25 cars during its first Friday in operation.

The service angered artists in the area — known as the Artists Village — who saw it as an example of gentrification. I wrote about the situation earlier this week in this story.
