What would it take to make Santa Ana a bicycle- and pedestrian-friendly community? Money? Time? Imagineering? A ciclovia? Or just people?
Maybe a spark from Jeff Miller, CEO of the Alliance for Biking and Walking, will catalyze Orange County’s conversion to a multimodal approach to transportation.
Jeff is a veteran bike-ped advocate who’s traveled the world studying how more people can be moved more efficiently.
Monday he’s coming to Santa Ana.
Beginning at 3 p.m. at the main library, he and Santa Ana Councilwoman Michele Martinez will lead a bike ride around town, experiencing what we’ve got and evaluating opportunities to get better.
Then at 6 p.m. at the Garfield Community Center, Jeff will speak with community advocates to share ideas.
The main library is located at 26 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana. The Garfield Community Center is at 850 Brown St., Santa Ana.
