WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (CA-46) released the following statement after Speaker of the House John Boehner announced his resignation:

“Speaker Boehner has served as Speaker of the House with great respect for the institution.

“He has always been passionate about education and during his time as Chairman of the House Education and Workforce Committee, we worked together at making early education a priority.

“I thank the Speaker for his years of service and wish him well in whatever he decides to take on next.”

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez is proud to represent California’s 46th Congressional District, which includes the cities of Anaheim, Santa Ana, and parts of the cities of Garden Grove and Orange in Orange County. She serves as Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Tactical Air and Land Forces and as the second ranked Democrat on the Committee on Homeland Security.
