For Immediate Release

September 28, 2015 – Stanton, Calif. – Today, The City of Stanton announced the launch of a financial analysis website powered by OpenGov.com that provides residents, elected officials and staff unprecedented access to the city’s finances. The powerful web‐based platform transforms complex financial data into an interactive, digital format that enables better analysis and understanding of the city’s finances. The intuitive design makes it easier to explore how taxpayer money is collected and spent. The website may be accessed at ci.stanton.ca.us/opengov.

Stanton’s OpenGov platform displays budget city‐wide spending and revenue detail in a user‐ friendly format. Users can explore multiple views of financial data by fund, department, expense, or revenue type. Visitors to the platform may answer frequently asked questions such as “What did the city spend on Sheriff contract services since 2007,” or “How is Stanton Central Park being funded?”

Stanton City Manager, James A. Box points out, “With recent voter approved funds, the City is elevating its commitment to fiscal transparency.”

“By making its financial data easily accessible in an intuitive, digital format, the city is demonstrating its commitment to efficient, data‐driven and open government,” commented Zac Bookman, CEO and co‐founder of OpenGov.

With its recent launch, Stanton joins a growing list of more than 350 leading cities, counties, state agencies, school systems, and special districts across the country that leverage OpenGov technology.
