CALOPTIMA HEALTH AND WELLNESS COMMUNITY EVENT FEATURES FREE HEALTH SERVICES AND RESOURCES
More than 70 organizations to participate on Saturday, November 14
ORANGE, Calif. (November 4, 2015)—The CalOptima Health and Wellness Community Event will be held Saturday, November 14, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at CalOptima’s headquarters, 505 City Parkway West in Orange. CalOptima invites members and the public to celebrate our 20th anniversary at this no-cost, family-friendly event, which will feature a variety of health services donated by local organizations.
• Free flu shots
• Free health screenings: blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol and body mass index (BMI)
• Free children’s health screenings: dental and vision
More than 70 local health and social services organizations will have exhibit booths offering resource information on a variety of topics, including aging, behavioral health, cancer, child development, disabilities, education, hospice, housing and much more. Several exhibitors will also highlight resources available to Orange County’s ethnic communities.
A ceremonial presentation will feature Orange County Supervisors and CalOptima Board Members Lisa Bartlett and Andrew Do. Plus, lively entertainment is planned, with a children’s activity zone and guest performances by senior hula and youth folklorico dancers, as well as appearances by Spanish radio personality Humberto Luna and the Angels Baseball Strike Force.
“For the past 20 years, CalOptima has provided access to quality health care for Orange County’s low-income residents through provider and community partnerships,” said Michael Schrader, CalOptima Chief Executive Officer. “Many of our partners are participating in this exciting event with us, showcasing again our shared dedication to serving the community and strengthening local health care.”
