The Anaheim City Council Tuesday approved labor contracts with the unions that represent the city’s rank-and-file employees and police managers.
The contract with the city’s 566 general employees covers two years and includes a 4 percent raise, with employees getting a 2-percent bump immediately and another 2 percent in June 2017.
The contract with the city’s 25 police captains and lieutenants covers three years and includes a 7-percent salary increase. They will get a 2-percent raise immediately, 2 percent in June of 2017, and 3 percent in June of 2018.
Since 2012, the city’s agreements with employees’ unions have included similar salary increases.
Council members voted 4-0, with mayor Tom Tait absent.The agreements will cost the city $2.81 million between now and January 2018, according to the staff report.
