CALIFORNIA STATE TREASURER JOHN CHIANG WILL SWEAR IN NEW IRVINE CITY COUNCIL MEMBER MELISSA FOX
IRVINE, CA – California State Treasurer John Chiang will swear in new Irvine City Council Member Melissa Fox. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Irvine City Hall, located at 1 Civic Center Plaza, Irvine, CA 92606. There will be a reception afterward, beginning at 6:00 pm. All members of the public are invited to attend.
John Chiang was elected California State Treasurer on Nov. 4, 2014. As the State’s banker, he oversees trillions of dollars in transactions every year. One of his top priorities is to conduct the State’s business in the most transparent manner possible. He previously served as California State Controller from 2007 to 2015 and on the California Board of Equalization from 1997 to 2007.
John Chiang is the son of immigrants from Taiwan. He has announced his intention to run for Governor of California in the 2018 race.
Melissa Fox is an Orange County native, business owner, attorney, wife, and mother. She was elected by the voters in November 2016 to a four-year term on the Irvine City Council.
