For the 2021 jazz series’ opener on May 13, the 250-seat Muckenthaler amphitheater reached 50% capacity , the maximum allowed under COVID guidelines for that week. Patrons were required to wear masks while using the restrooms or moving around on the grounds, but once seated within the amphitheater, were left to exercise their own discretion regarding masking.
