Below are the Orange County government seats up for election 2018.


Assessor

The County Assessor is responsible for valuing all properties in the county. The current assessor for the county is Claude Parrish, who is running for reelection this year.

Auditor-Controller

The Auditor-Controller is responsible for the county’s budget control, disbursements and receipts, financial reporting, and audits of certain agencies within the county.

The current Auditor-Controller is Eric H. Woolery, who is running for reelection this year.

Clerk-Recorder

The current Clerk-Recorder is Hugh Nguyen, who is running for reelection this year.

District Attorney

The Orange County District Attorney serves the entire county.

The current district attorney is Tony Rackauckas who has been serving since 1998 and is running for reelection in 2018.

Sheriff-Coroner

The Sheriff-Coroner has three primary duties: keep the peace, attend the courts, and operate the county jail. The current Sheriff-Coroner is Sandra Hutchens, who is not running for reelection.

Treasurer-Tax Collector

The Treasurer-Tax Collector is responsible for banking, investment, disbursement and accountability for public funds; the billing and collection of secured and unsecured property taxes for all local governments; and administering the Improvement Bond Acts of 1911, 1913 and 1915.

The current Treasurer-Tax Collector is Shari L. Freidenrich who is running unopposed for reelection this year.
