The Laguna Beach City Council meets at 6 p.m. and will talk about potentially increasing solid waste service rates for residents.

Special Nov. 5 Election to Determine San Clemente’s Next Mayor Approved by City Council

San Clemente residents will vote in a special election Nov. 5 to fill the vacant city council seat left by Mayor Steve Swartz, who died May 8. The resolution for a special election passed 4-0 at San Clemente’s City Council meeting Tuesday, May 21. In the meantime, the dais will consist of four members until an application process is discussed for appointing someone to fill Swartz’s seat until the election. Swartz died while on vacation in Palm Springs.

The Anaheim City Council meets at 3:30 p.m. today for closed session and public comments on closed session items. At 5 p.m. the normal council meeting will occur including potentially spending $229,809 to buy of two training simulators for the city’s police department. Meeting details: Agenda:

The Garden Grove City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. today and will discuss a new $500 rebate for Garden Grove residents buying a new vehicle in the city.
