The Orange County Supervisors Monday officially installed former Chief Financial Officer Bob Franz as interim CEO as they search for a successor to Tom Mauk, who resigned last month.

Mauk lost his job in the wake of the sex crime scandal involving former county Public Works executive Carlos Bustamante, who is also a Santa Ana city councilman. He was arrested and charged with 12 felony sex assaults counts involving women who worked for him in Public Works.
