The Huntington Beach City Council generally meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
This meeting schedule can change, particularly in months with national holidays, so be sure to check the status of a meeting at the agenda link below. Make sure to check the agency’s website also for the latest protocols on in-person and/or virtual attendance.

MEETING TIME: The council’s open session begins at 6 p.m. When scheduled, the council typically begins at 4 p.m. with a study session and/or 5 p.m. for closed session.
MEETING LOCATION: City Council Chambers at 2000 Main Street. Meetings can be viewed on HBTV via Channel 3 or online here. Past city council meetings are also archived on the city’s website. City council meetings are rebroadcast on HBTV on Tuesday at 10 a.m. and Wednesday at 6 p.m.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Residents wishing to provide public comment on agendized or non-agendized items, including study sessions, closed sessions and public hearings, can do so in person at the meeting by completing a request to speak form delivered to the city clerk.
The public comments portion of the meeting is at the beginning. During public comments, anyone may address the city council on any issue for a maximum of three minutes.
Residents can send written comments to the city council via email at SupplementalComm@Surfcity-hb.org. If received by 9 a.m. on the day of the meeting, written comments will be distributed to the city council prior to consideration of agenda-related items, posted to the city website, and announced, but not read, at the meeting. Comments received after 9 a.m. will be incorporated into the administrative record.
