In the 2010 Census, more than 210,000 California children younger than 6 weren’t counted. As a result, our state missed out on a decade’s worth of crucial funding — to the tune of over $2 billion — for programs that support kids. These programs provide basic necessities like food, shelter and health care. Through the All Kids Count campaign, First 5 Orange County and First 5 California are part of a coalition working to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
