Isnt that how we ended up with Bruce Broadwater for so many years?

Lack of internet, information, public knowledge, sunshiney transparency is how some politicians took hold of those lucrative seats in the old days, grasshopper. People were kept in the dark and dark was good. It paid very well, shall we say? Congress is another fine example of that.

“Latinos not being able to vote” … with all due respect Counsel Shenkman, but that is fully misspoken! Choosing to vote and choosing not to vote is the issue here. And those that vote should not be penalized because others were not jalado por las greñias to the voting booths. America is at its best when we all contribute to the process as Americans. Assimilation is key to that. Oy very!

So this begs the question: why doesn’t Santa Ana have district elections? The at-large elections of all councilmembers seems unfair to Viet residents.

    • Paul Lucas

Thats how the city council set it up several years ago.

      • LFOldTimer

That may be true. But Ron still has a legitimate point. What’s good for the goose should be good for the gander.

        • Paul Lucas

I have no argument to that. The way santa Anas districts are set up is silly. Its like picking your own crony from certain areas.
