Alex Guess is right that Orange County needs action on e-bike safety. The Bellemont Project offers a comprehensive alternative to fragmented enforcement responses — combining familyeducation, behavior management, informed enforcement, infrastructure, regional coordination and safer riding opportunities to protect communities while respecting young riders as part of the solution.

Beth’s mission is to provide strategic solutions for the complex causes of today’s e-bike safety problems — to empower communities and civic leaders through innovative approaches that focus on insightful education, effective enforcement, sophisticated use of behavioral psychology, and robust community engagement.

David Rynerson’s article, “E-Bikes Aren’t the Problem: Unsafe Riders Are,” makes important points that can help our communities and kids stay safer. I agree with many of his insights, differ on a few, and feel there’s generally more to add.
