This month, nonprofit newsrooms across America are launching NewsMatch, which allows local donors to double the impact of their contributions to newsrooms like Voice of OC.
Starting today Voice of OC readers can double the impact of their tax-deductible donations to Voice of OC during our year-end fundraising campaign.
The donation matching is made available thanks to special, independent Orange County residents who have pledged support and also through the national NewsMatch campaign (funded by the John S. and James L. Knight foundation and the Democracy Fund).
This annual campaign is the best opportunity for donors to double the impact of donation dollars in support of Voice of OC’s journalism and to ensure a tax-deduction before the year ends.
And remember, new monthly recurring donations are matched dollar-for-dollar for the full year’s worth.
Your donation to Voice of OC will:
- Help us hire more full-time reporters, elevating our three-person news team.
- Aid in bringing on more news editors to support our in-depth journalism.
- Build more opportunities to tell OC stories through photos and videos.
- Elevate how many residents we reach across our website, social networks and mobile news apps.
We offer our valuable news free of paywalls and free of ads. Give what you can today to expand the Voice of OC news on which you depend.

Since you've made it this far,
You are obviously connected to your community and value good journalism. As an independent and local nonprofit, our news is accessible to all, regardless of what they can afford. Our newsroom centers on Orange County’s civic and cultural life, not ad-driven clickbait. Our reporters hold powerful interests accountable to protect your quality of life. But it’s not free to produce. It depends on donors like you.
