The recent Texas power shortage was caused by freezing temperatures, but here in California we are more likely to experience power loss due to excessive heat. Such was the case more than 20 years ago in the San Gabriel Valley when a shortage of critical electrical infrastructure threatened to take down hospitals, homes and a sanitation plant.
