I’ll be heading over tonight to the Democratic Central Committee meeting at Teamsters Local 952 in Orange tonight to meet the Democrats’ new Executive Director Gerrie Schipske.

The Long Beach Councilwoman — who has run unsuccessfully for Congress several times — has taken some heat for being an out-of-towner. Supporters say she’s a great organizer, has elective office experience and has a good relationship with labor, specifically with the Teamsters and International Longshore and Warehouse Union.

I’m also hearing that endorsements should come up, so expect a blow-by-blow out of the meeting…

There’s a pre-meeting welcome for Schipske at 5:30 p.m. and the central committee meeting starts afterward. The union hall is at 140 S. Marks Way, Orange, CA 92868.
