The Fullerton City Council last night voted to hold a public hearing June 1 on possible water rate increases that would add, on average, about $3.84 to each monthly bill.
The Metropolitan Water District has raised the price it charges the city for water at the same time conservation efforts and the Great Recession have caused water users to cut back. Check out my previous posts for more details.
David Schickling, Fullerton’s water department manager, said today that demand has dropped 15-20 percent recently, including “a drastic drop in commercial and industrial demand.”
