With more than half of precincts reporting, Fullerton City Councilman Shawn Nelson holds a 10-point lead over Anaheim City Councilman Harry Sidhu for County Supervisor in north Orange County.

Meanwhile, Anaheim Councilwoman Lorri Galloway keeps inching closer to the second spot, and Buena Park Mayor Art Brown is still in the picture.

Nelson sits at 29.2 percent, 8,953 votes; Sidhu at 19.2 percent, 5,877 votes. Galloway is third with 16.9 percent, 5,191 votes; Brown fourth with 16.1 percent, 4,929 votes.

Both Nelson and Sidhu are Republicans but Nelson had the support of the Republican party while Sidhu was backed by organized labor in the race for the nonpartisan seat. Galloway and Brown are Democrats.

The winner will fill the vacancy created by the election of former Supervisor Chris Norby to the state Assembly. If no candidate gets more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two contenders will be in a run-off in November.

Here are the vote breakdown for the other two candidates:

Rose Marie Espinoza: 3,663 votes; 11.9 percent

Richard Faher:  2,076 votes; 6.8 percent
