A quick look through the last-minute campaign donations filed with the Orange County Registrar of Voters shows $150,000 donated this month to the California Republican Party by Newport Beach’s Wiliiam Lyon and affiliated groups.

Voice of OC tried to call the phone number they list on their state reporting form to see if there was more detail about the exact source of the donation, but a recording said it wasn’t a working number.

This week, on Oct. 26, Costa Mesa City Councilman Allan Mansoor reported receiving a $35,000 contribution for his state Assembly campaign from the Republican Party. Yesterday, the state GOP gave him another $40,000.

Lyon and Mansoor aren’t the only big donors and receivers. We’ll update you on more last-minute financing in coming days.
