Proposition 19 will fail, media are reporting. KTLA-TV reports that 56 percent of voters rejected the initiative.

Proposition 19 would have allowed adults 21 or older to carry up to one ounce of marijuana. It also would have given local governments authority to allow commercial sale of the drug and powers to tax and regulate it.
