Late Thursday, the Orange County Employees Association reported a $250,000 contribution to a campaign committee supporting Anaheim City Council candidate John Leos, bringing OCEA’s total contributions to the committee to $300,000.

Total union support for the Leos committee stands at $438,000, with $138,000 in contributions from the United Employee Organization of Orange County Independent Expenditure Committee.

The form showing the contribution was filed hours after Voice of OC reported that the Disneyland Resort had funneled nearly $190,000 to four different political action committees supporting the resort’s favored candidates: Steve Chavez Lodge, director of public affairs for Hill International, and Jordan Brandman, a trustee of the Anaheim Union High School District.

Nine candidates are running for two open seats on the council, but the main competitors are Leos, Brandman, Chavez Lodge and former Councilwoman Lucille Kring.
