As the immigration debate heats up at the local and national level, elected officials are set to host an event in Garden Grove Thursday evening on how immigration policies affect education for local youth.

The forum and panel discussion starts at 6 p.m. in the library of Rancho Alamitos High School in Garden Grove. (Click here for directions.)

The event is co-hosted by Garden Grove Board of Education Mermber Bao Nguyen and Rep. Alan Lowenthal, D-Garden Grove, and was organized by the advocacy groups RAIZ and Advancing Justice — LA.
