Air quality officials say residents of a Newport Beach neighborhood are being exposed to high levels of carcinogens from a nearby metal finishing company, while the company vehemently refutes the claims, reports PBS SoCaL’s David Nazar.

South Coast Air Quality Management District officials are certain that Hixson Metal Finishing is the only source of cancer-causing chromium 6 being emitted into the air.

The company, meanwhile, says they’re not the culprit.
