Voice of OC reporter Adam Elmahrek joined KPCC’s radio show Take Two on Monday morning to talk about a measure in Anaheim that would make it more difficult to pass new taxes.

Anaheim Councilwoman Kris Murray proposed the measure — which would increase the number of City Council votes it takes to place a new tax on the ballot from a simply majority to two-thirds — and said it was to protect residents, particularly the working-class and poor, from regressive new taxes.

But critics of the measure say it is all about preventing a future council from passing a Disneyland admissions tax, which would levy a per-ticket tax for visitors to the resort and raise money for city services.
