SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Capistrano Unified School District today launched an official mobile app designed as the on-the-go source to stay informed about important issues, information and activities under way within CUSD. The free app can be downloaded from the App Store for Apple iOS and from Google play for Android devices. Find the app by simply typing “Capistrano Unified School District.”

The new app, developed in partnership with School Messenger – the district’s parent notification system – pulls information from the CUSD website into a more mobile-friendly application easy to view on smartphones and tablets. Families and students gain instant access to key features including daily school breakfast and lunch menus, district and school news, a calendar of events, social media posts, basic district information, secure access to the parent and student portal, school meal payments, high school athletic schedules, and school and district staff listings with e-mail addresses.

The app can be customized so parents can quickly access comprehensive information on the schools of their choosing, while another important feature enables users to receive push notifications on their mobile devices when important news and emergency information is released by the district.

“Capistrano Unified School District is always exploring new ways to improve communication with our students and families,” said Superintendent Kirsten Vital. “Our CUSD mobile app will be another great resource for our faculty and staff to use to share information and for our students and families to get instant access right at their fingertips.”

The app will undergo continued improvements and refinements so those who download it will always have the latest information about CUSD schools.
