Garden Grove city councilman Phat Bui has entered the race for First District Supervisor, the Orange County Register reported today, joining a crowded field of candidates challenging incumbent Supervisor Andrew Do.

Bui, a former city Planning Commissioner who is was elected to the city council in 2014, told the Register on Sunday that he intends to run for supervisor, although he declined to comment on his decision to run.

Bui is also president of the Vietnamese American Federation of Southern California, a community group active in local politics.
