Endorses Kim Bernice Nguyen for Garden Grove City Council District 6
Garden Grove, Calif. – The Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council have endorsed Kim Nguyen for Garden Grove City Council, District 6. This organization represents 48 local unions and district councils in 14 Trades. Membership in these unions totals more than 140,000 skilled men and women.
The Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council is in the business of creating good jobs and lifelong careers. The Council negotiates Project Labor Agreements with developers and owners to bring collective bargaining to projects in the private and public sectors. Through these agreements, working men and women earn fair pay; benefits; retirement pensions; and health and safety on the job. The Council works as partners with project owners to complete projects on time and on budget. The Council works to form coalitions for smart, forward-looking development.
The Building Trades are the second-biggest source of job training in this country, just behind the US military. The Council is also committed to offering opportunities to military veterans through their innovative Helmets to Hardhats program.
“I am thrilled to have earned the support of the Building and Construction Trades Council,” said Kim. “Coming from a blue collar background, I know firsthand how hard people in these trades work day in and day out. With District 6 having the highest concentration of blue collar workers, I want to ensure future development projects provide jobs to those in our community and to Veterans who have served our country with distinction and honor.”
