Fullerton, CA – A half-dozen State Senators announced their endorsements of Josh Newman’s campaign to represent California’s 29th Senate District. The list of upper-house legislators includes Senators Jim Beall, Ed Hernandez, Ricardo Lara, Connie Leyva, Tony Mendoza, and Bob Wieckowski.

In announcing their endorsements, Senator Ed Hernandez, whose district borders the seat Newman is seeking, released the following statement:
“Josh Newman is a thoughtful and practical leader, who understands that it takes consensus and common sense in order to get things done. He is truly committed to finding long-term solutions to help solve the problems facing California. Josh will make a great State Senator, and I am excited to join with my colleagues in supporting his campaign”

Senator Tony Mendoza, whose district also borders the 29th Senate District, added:

“I am proud to support Josh Newman for State Senate because he is committed to fighting for the issues that matter most to working families. In the Senate, Josh will be a forceful voice for policies that help businesses create new jobs, ensure equal pay for women, expand paid family leave, fully-fund our system of public education, and empower middle class families.”
California’s 29th Senate District is a Democratic-leaning swing-seat, which is home to more registered Democrats than Republicans. Newman and fellow Democrat Sukhee Kang combined to earn over 56% of the vote in June’s Primary Election.
