Kriz: Another 33 People “Died Without Fixed Abode” in OC in March 2024
Another 33 people died “without fixed abode” in OC in March, 2024, about 20% lower than last year but on par with the year before, which back then had been a record year. Anecdotally, the county’s 211 system may show modest incremental improvement in at least responding to “off hour” calls. However, the success must be seen as putting people requesting assistance into hotel rooms and/or shelters rather than keeping them on our streets as if they didn’t call at all.
