Kriz: OC’s Homeless Deaths Continue at Record Pace (41 in April) While County Celebrates “Reduction in Homelessness”

Another 41 people died without fixed abode in April, continuing at a record pace for the year and more than double rate since the onset of the COVID-19 Crisis. Yet the County chose to celebrate a 1142 person (16%) decline in homelessness between January 2019 and 2022. However, 947 people “without fixed abode” died in the County died during the same period. So 82.9% of the decline could be attributed to “the deaths of patients.”
