This week on PBS SoCaL, we delve into the debate over Angel Stadium after Anaheim City Council members voted to give the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim another three years to decide whether to leave town.
Proposed terms of the new lease also allow the team to drop Anaheim from its name and to use land around the stadium for 66 years in order to develop hotels and other properties.
We also discuss:
- A heated discussion over the future of Orange County’s pension system and how to best handle skyrocketing unfunded liabilities.
- A Vietnamese student group’s challenging of Garden Grove city officials over a $75,000 fee to host the annual Tet Festival.
- A police-assisted internal investigation into the finances of Costa Mesa’s 60th anniversary event.
Voice of OC’s weekly news segments are broadcast on PBS SoCaL Wednesdays and Fridays at 5 p.m.
