Orange County, California, has a rich LGBTQ+ history alongside ongoing challenges. Despite being in a progressive state, LGBTQ+ students face a lack of inclusivity in schools. The OC Board of Education’s support for a bill that disregards LGBTQ+ concerns is perturbing. However, Orange County’s LGBTQ+ community continues to fight for equality and holds local officials accountable. Pride extends beyond June, and we demand progress and celebration of our community all year long.
