Republican Assemblyman Van Tran has conceded to Democratic Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez in the race for her seat in the U.S. House, the Orange County Register is reporting.

Sanchez had maintained a double-digit lead since election night, and was leading, 52 percent to 41 percent, as of Monday. However, Tran was hoping that absentee and provisional ballots, which are used heavily in the Vietnamese community, would close the gap.
