Rick Reiff, host of PBS SoCal’s “Inside OC,” a talk show that until now has focused on public affairs in Orange County, is expanding the program to all of Southern California beginning Jan. 4.

The new show, called “SoCal Insider,” will continue to feature breaking news and public policy discussions but will now center on issues impacting the Los Angeles region. PBS SoCal is a Voice of OC media partner.

Reiff, who is also executive editor of the Orange County Business Journal, will team with PBS veteran David Nazar in the effort to expand the show. Reiff is a Pulitzer Prize and Golden Mike winner while Nazar is a winner of multiple Golden Mikes and an Emmy nominee, according to PBS SoCal.

According to a recent article in the Los Angeles Business Journal, PBS SoCal Chief Executive Mel Rogers told the publication that the show’s production budget is expected to increase to between $300,000 and $450,000.
