Hugo Romero completed his Associates degree at Fullerton Community College and went on to pursue his degree in Economics at California State University, Fullerton.

For the past year he has been conducting research on Orange County through the UCLA Labor Center and plans to continue to do so through the UCI Community and Labor Project.
