SANTA ANA, Calif. – Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in August 2015 when compared to August 2014. In August 2015, the Airport served 936,949 passengers, an increase of 12.2 percent when compared with the August 2014 passenger traffic count of 834,765.

Commercial aircraft operations increased 8.0 percent, while commuter aircraft operations stayed the same when compared to August 2014 levels.

Total aircraft operations decreased in August 2015 compared with the same month in 2014. In August 2015, there were 22,878 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a 10.6 percent decrease compared with 25,591 total aircraft operations in August 2014.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 66.7 percent of the total aircraft operations during August 2015, decreased 17.5 percent when compared to August 2014.
