GARDEN GROVE, CA – Walter Muneton earlier last month announced his candidacy for Garden Grove School Board Trustee Area 3 in 2016, the first year that the Garden Grove Unified School District will be having district elections in place of an at-large election.
Walter was born and raised in Garden Grove, and is a product of Garden Grove Unified School District after having graduated from Santiago High School. For the past 5 years, Walter has been working as a youth mentor and case manager at the Boys and Girls Club of Garden Grove, providing access to critical health and education programs to our children. During his time off, Walter serves as a mentor for high school students and assists them in achieving their highest potential as they prepare for college.
In addition to his work on behalf of children and students, Walter is working hard to make Garden Grove a better place to live, work, and raise a family. He serves as a member of the Garden Grove Neighborhood Improvement and Conservation Commission as he works on projects to enhance and beautify our community. He was also appointed by the Board of Education to Garden Grove Unified School District’s Bond Oversight Committee to help provide transparency in the use of Measure A bond proceeds.
“I have heard the needs of our families and children. As your commissioner for the City of Garden Grove and Committee member for the Garden Grove Unified School District, I have strived to always fight for what is right. However, there is always more work to be done. For these reasons, I have decided, with much consideration and support from my wife, family, and friends, to run for Garden Grove Unified School District’s Board of Education for Trustee Area 3.”
Walter will be having his second fundraiser Wednesday November 4th at the Black Umbrella Art Gallery on Main Street, Garden Grove. The event starts at 6:00 PM and is open to all community members. Walter invites everyone to come join him for an evening of art and to find out more about his plans for the school district once he is elected.
