UNITE HERE Local 11 back Walter Muneton for Garden Grove School Board, Area 3

Garden Grove, Calif. – UNITE HERE Local 11 has endorsed Walter Muneton for Garden Grove School Board, Trustee Area 3.

UNITE HERE Local 11 represents more than 20,000 workers employed in hotels, restaurants, airports, sports arenas, and convention centers throughout Southern California. Members of UNITE HERE Local 11 join together to fight for improved living standards and working conditions.

“Walter is a lifelong member of the community who will bring transparency to the table,” said Ada Briceño, Secretary-Treasurer of UNITE HERE Local 11. “We trust Walter will advocate on behalf of working families and the students of the Garden Grove Unified School District.”

Walter was born and raised in Garden Grove, and is a product of Garden Grove Unified School District after having graduated from Santiago High School. For the past 5 years, Walter has been working as a youth mentor, case manager, and Director at the Boys and Girls Club of Garden Grove, providing access to critical health, diversion, and education programs to students and their families.

He serves as a member of the Garden Grove Neighborhood Improvement and Conservation Commission as he works on projects to enhance and beautify his community. He was also appointed by the Board of Education to Garden Grove Unified School District’s Bond Oversight Committee to help provide transparency in the use of Measure A bond proceeds.

Walter lives with his wife, Yesenia, in Garden Grove. They both attended all the schools that pertain to Garden Grove’s School Board Trustee Area 3, which covers portions of Garden Grove and Santa Ana.
