Former State Senator and Congressional Candidate Lou Correa EndorseKim Bernice Nguyen for Garden Grove City Council District 6

Garden Grove, Calif. – Former State Senator and current Congressional Candidate Lou Correa has endorsed Kim Nguyen for Garden Grove City Council, District 6.

Lou Correa has a long distinguished history, having represented Central Orange County in the State Assembly, County Board of Supervisors and the State Senate. Correa has served the area with distinction for nearly two decades and is now running to succeed Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez. In the State Legislature, Correa encouraged our youth to serve our community and learn about government and how it works through his groundbreaking Young Senators program.

“I am proud of Kim Berenice Nguyen. She interned in our Senate office, served the community, and learned that to be a leader means you serve our community first and foremost” said Lou Correa.

“I consider Lou Correa a mentor and it was an honor to intern for him when he was a Senator. His dedication to public service is what inspired me to seek to better our community,” said Kim. “As a Councilmember, I will follow the example I learned from Lou Correa and will continue to put the community first. It was through Senator Correa that I learned the value of the community and what it means to be a public servant”

Former Senator Correa’s endorsement sends a strong message that community leaders realize Kim Nguyen brings new, innovative ideas to help move Garden Grove forward. Kim continues to gain momentum as she shares her ideas and vision for the city to community leaders.

Kim Bernice Nguyen is a longtime Garden Grove resident. She is a product of Garden Grove Schools, graduating from Santiago High School. She attended UC Santa Cruz, and graduated with a B.A. degree in Politics, with an emphasis in Legal Studies. During and after her years in college, Kim served as an intern with Senator Correa’s district office, where she learned the value of service. Most recently, Kim was recognized for her tireless work in creating new voting districts within the city. Her commitment to citizen participation and her unique ability to bring people together played a historical role in bringing about fair and balanced voting district which embodies a legacy which will endure for years in Garden Grove.
