Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez EndorseKim Bernice Nguyen for Garden Grove City Council District 6

Garden Grove, Calif. – Longtime central Orange County Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez has endorsed Kim Nguyen for Garden Grove City Council, District 6.

Congresswoman Sanchez made history 20 years ago being the first woman elected to Congress from Orange County and the first Democrat in 12 years, defeating conservative firebrand Bob Dornan. In Congress, Loretta Sanchez has fought tirelessly for her district and made sure her district always got their fair share of services. In the district, Loretta Sanchez has always been one of the most accessible Congressmembers for her constituents, making the long journey home from Washington D.C. each weekend.

“Kim Bernice Nguyen is a mature, intelligent, and community driven leader in Garden Grove. She has demonstrated an inclusive perspective on the Garden Grove district map that represented the voices of those unheard in the past,” said Congresswoman Sanchez. “My district office resides in Garden Grove District 6 and I see first hand the needs of the residents there and believe that Kim has the ability to listen to the concerns of the residents and promote their best interests on the City Council.”

“I am beyond honored to have the endorsement from a woman I have looked to as a role model,” said Kim. “As a woman seeking to enter public service, I admire her ability to overcome the adversity and obstacles she has faced and persevere. Her example has inspired me to serve the community and face any challenge that comes my way.”

Congresswoman Sanchez’ support is only the latest endorsement from a long line of influential community leaders and elected officials who understand Kim Nguyen is the most qualified candidate to serve East Garden Grove. Kim continues to gain momentum as she introduces her ideas and vision for the city to community leaders.
