Thirty two people died “without fixed abode” in OC last month, 432 since the beginning of the year. By year’s end 532 people will have died in the county or an equivalent of 9.3% of the County’s beginning of the year homeless population. And behind these numbers lurk even worse failings. Incredibly, we remain unable give adequate shelter even to women running from domestic violence and to homeless families with small children. Honestly, how is that possible?

OC Animal Care to Temporarily Close Facility
Due to the upcoming high wind event forecasted by the National Weather Service, the shelter’s close proximity to the north hangar and the City of Tustin Incident Management Team announcement of the controlled deconstruction of the remaining structure, as well as the continued effort to prioritize the health and safety of staff, visitors, and animals on campus, OC Animal Care will temporarily close on-site operations to the public, out of an abundance of caution, from Monday, November 20 through Tuesday, November 21.
