Line by the SVdP pantry at St Philip Benizi Church. No matter what else is happening in the world, there are always people who need the help. About a 1/4 of the people being helped here to survive remain homeless. Credit: Fr. Dennis Kriz

Additionally, the County added to its listing of deceased without fixed abode an as yet unidentified man “John Doe” who died on April 20th in Anaheim.

The number of homeless deceased continues to be lower than at its height in 2023.  Still the number of homeless deceased remains higher than prior to the COVID-19 years.

The concern now remains that with so much uncertainty present in the society now, civic centers in southern California now often look like occupation zones, will our homeless population now become completely forgotten.

In this regard, I will continue to post the names of our homeless brothers and sisters who die on our streets here in OC because no matter who we are we don’t deserve to simply disappear, even as new classes of poor people are now threatened with disappearance as well.   No matter who we are, we are deserve so much better than that.
