Universities More Rigorously Reporting Sexual Assaults on Campuses
The number of sexual assault cases reported on college campuses in Orange County has risen over the last three years. Chapman University and California State University, Fullerton, have seen double the number of incidents reported while University of California, Irvine, numbers fluctuated over that period.

Chapman Professor is Developing a Docu-Series Aimed at Stopping Child Prostitution Before it Starts
Kelly Galindo has devoted several years to investigating the whos and whys of global sex trafficking. Originally, “our approach was rescue and reintegration. Now it’s more about prevention. If we can prevent it, we are saving not only years of turmoil for the victim, but also the taxpayers’ money. It takes a lot of money to restore a kid.”

Harden: The Challenge of Being Black at Chapman University
Olivia Harden, a student at Chapman and Features Editor of The Panther Newspaper, writes that being Black at Chapman can be traumatic and has only been exacerbated by the refusal of Chapman’s President to remove a racially charged poster of the film Birth of a Nation, at the Dodge School of Film. A vote Monday by the faculty will consider whether to call for a change.
