Earlier today I wrote a post that said the city of Irvine had hired 259 new consultants. That was not accurate. I misinterpreted a staff report and reported the story incorrectly.

The consultant team, composed of 259 firms, is actually a list of approved consultants the city can hire from when it embarks on various projects, according to Craig Reem, the city’s public affairs and communications director. The city will not hire all 259 firms.
